default velocity value [SOLVED]

Mon Nov 11, 2013 11:24 am

I'm suddenly finding that, when I create a new region, my new Midi notes have a velocity value= near 0. Even when I move it to a different value, each subsequent note has the minimal velocity. According to the Apple Help documentation, "A MIDI note is created at the clicked position, with the note’s channel, velocity, and length values matching that of the previously created or edited note event", but this isn't what happens. Default is supposed to be at 80, but I must have done something weird.

Actually the default velocity is supposed to be 60, not 80 (the manual is wrong on that).

You should be able to define your default note length and velocity by clicking an existing note with the pencil tool. You can also try control-clicking a note and choosing "Define as Default Note".

Ah, thank you David. Love that "control key".
